In the context of the research activities of the Internet Media Group, we are looking for a master thesis student with strong interests in Internet application technologies to create interactive visualization tools for the dataset collected by the Neubot project, including but not limited to the part of data concerning the DASH test. Tools such as D3.js and similar technologies will be considered, as well as paradigms for efficient handling of a large amount of data (e.g., map-reduce). Some examples of the data content are available at http://media.polito.it/neubot.

Requirements:

• Good knowledge of scripting languages (e.g., python, bash)
• Good knowledge of Javascript
• Good knowledge of the GNU/Linux environment

Nell’ambito delle attività di ricerca dell’Internet Media Group, si ricerca uno studente interessato alle tecnologie per la realizzazione di applicazioni web per creare un tool di visualizzazione interattivo per i dati raccolti dal progetto Neubot project, inclusi (ma non solo) quelli che riguardano il test DASH. Strumenti quali D3.js e tecnologie simili saranno considerate nel lavoro, cosi’ come paradigmi per la gestione efficiente di grandi quantita’ di dati (es. map-reduce).
